I met Bro. Marlin Gipson in 1958 when he and his family moved to Lakeland, Florida to attend Florida Baptist Institute. We were neighbors. He was pastor in Gulfport and was instrumental in me coming to Gautier in 1974.
We appreciate his ministry and we extend our
sympathy to his family. He has now had the victory that he preached about.

Bro. Gipson loved to preach, to pastor, and to teach. He was my father in the ministry; Pastor of the Gulfport, MS church when they licensed me on his recommendation in August of 1972, President of GCBI when I attended there in 1975 to 1977, and was my pastor in the 1960's in Victorville, CA.
Before all this he was our family friend since 1959. He was "Uncle Marlin" to me and my sister. In 2004 he conducted my father's funeral, at my father's previous request. My father called him the best pastor he knew. I agree.
His home was my home while I was in the Air Force and at Keesler AFB 1972-1973. It was a rare weekend that I did not spend at the Gipsons.
When Aunt Nita passed away I thought it might not be long until he joined her in heaven. He loved her deeply. Now they are with Marty and that makes three more reasons to look forward to eternity. They are all with their Lord, and He is the greatest hope for all of us.
Bro. Gipson's light shines even brighter now that he is in Heaven with his Savior and lovely Sis. Nita.
Will miss you Uncle "Tot", but I know you are with Aunt Nita, together again.. Where you have been so happy.. Watching over us all now.. Another of God's Angels gone home.
Such a sweet man and wonderful pastor. He officiated at our wedding 43 years ago in Gulfport, MS. Prayers for his family at this time.
He as will as his wife, Nita, were wonderful people and such dear friends to my family.Bro. Marlin was such a kind and a wonderful true Man of God. He will be dearly missed. My prayers are For God to put his loving arms around the family during this time.
our love and prayers to family and friends Kermit and I would be there with you but we are now in Northern Michigan. may you find comfort in our Lord Jesus
such a sweet man, had a good sense of humor and most of all he loved the Lord. All of us at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist loved him and he will certainly be missed.
Bro. Gibson was a great man of God. His wisdom and guidance will be truly missed. He saved G.C.B.I. many times with only a few people knowing the whole story. Truly, "a great man has fallen" this day.
