She was one special lady. If not for her I wouldn’t have gone into nursing. I’ve known her all my life, one of my Mom’s friends and a member of First Baptist. She helped me pursue a career in what was one of the best experiences of my life. She was friends with the Director of Nursing at Ochsner and even though they didn’t hire LPN’s in surgery, I was a first getting in the surgical technology program they were starting up but being paid to go. After completing program, stayed on working and even going back to school for my RN. She kept up with my career early on and told me on numerous visits home how proud she was of me and knew I would make a great nurse. Well, Mrs. Dorothy, at 70 and still doing what I love. Thank you for being my Angel. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please take some comfort in knowing that so many people are thinking of you and sharing in your sorrow ...
