She was a wonderful powerful successful women who fought a long tough battle with a smile on her face. She is a hero to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She's at peace now and watching over all of y'all. She wouldn't want y'all to be sad but to be happy and remember the wild crazy way she was. She will always be with everyone of y'all.
When DoEllen called me tonight, my heart broke at hearing of Barbara's passing. She was a wonderful woman. Following Hurricane Katrina, she wanted nothing for herself; she only wanted Katrina's Angels to help the townspeople in need. We did our best. My heart goes out to you all.

Barbara was an amazing woman. She always had a smile on her face even before the cancer. She always had kind words to say and never talked about anyone. She was an inspirattion to me because she did not let cancer take away her spirit or love for people.
She will be missed but her legacy lives on in family and friends.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am. I only met your mom once but it had a lasting impression on me. When we had no place to stay after Hurricane Katrina and Richie offered his home to us in Sun we were very grateful. Your mom made sure we had what we needed and also wanted to be sure that we came to where she had collected clothes for the victims of the storm to get anything that we needed, it did not matter to her that we were not from Sun it only mattered to her that we were taken care of.
