My grandmother was a true christian woman. The last time i saw her she told me she was ready to meet jesus. She loved to help people. She worked as a nurse most of her life. After she retired from that she raised me and my brother half the time and alisha as well. She would always bring newspapers to the mentally challenged at nelly byers because that's how they earned their money and kept busy. She loved to shop didn't matter what for she loved it. And after shopping most of the day until all of us were exhausted we would take a break and go get something to eat at taco bell so we could make one last stop before the drive home. She helped her brother dale for years. She sang in the church choir at angie baptist church but lord knows she really couldnt carry a tune. She always made sure everyone had something to eat. Whether she came to visit you or you came to visit her. You weren't excused until you ate something. As an adult i got involved in drugs and with the wrong crowd. I did some bad things to everyone including her. She forgave me right away. Told me that was between me and the lord and she loved me no matter what. I'll never forget how happy she was the last time i saw her and i looked happy and healthy (fat). She had me put her socks on for her like she had done for me a million times before. I offered to brush her hair and make her look "presentable" before she had to see the doctor. She was always worried about what her hair looked like. My grandfather was a great man and i feel like her death was overlooked because his was so soon before hers. She was the one who held us all together. I miss her very much. The last thing she said to me was exactly what i needed to hear. "Go to church loren god loves you and so do I. I am so proud of you." RIP mawmaw sleep with the angels
