William Robert Carlisle's Obituary
William Robert Carlisle born August 27, 1915 passed away October 6, 2012 at the L.S.U. Medical Center at the age of 97. Robert as he was fondly called was born in Chunky MS. And was a longtime resident of Poplarville in the Crossroads Community. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a faithful member of Mitchell Chapel Church of God. Robert served families in the surrounding communities during his life working at the Movie Star Plant in Poplarville, a salesman at BF Goodrich and a longtime employee at Wal-Mart Store.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Veda H. Carlisle of Poplarville, MS. Three daughters Sharon Brock of New Mexico, Pam Boutwell of Carriere, MS., Mollie (Donald) Williams of Poplarville, MS., eight Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren along with Nieces and Nephews and the Wal-Mart Community.
He is preceded in death by Parents Robert Jackson and Mary Vaughn Carlisle, 2 half Brothers Vester Carlisle and Bob Carlisle, one Sister Lula Bell Amacker.
Visitation will be held Monday October 8, 2012 at Mitchell Chapel Curch of God starting at 5:00 P.M. until closing, and will continue Tuesday October 9, 2012 until service time at 2:00 P.M. with Rev.Richard J. Ryals and Rev. Roger Flowers officiating the services. Interment will follow in the Mitchell Chapel Church Cemetery.
American Legion Post 24 will provide Military Honors at the service.
