Richard Eugene Whitney Jr.
"Heaven Rejoices while the earth cries"
Richard was called home to our Lord at 7:26 A.M. Friday February 12, 2016. He was 35 years old. He is survived by his 7 year daughter, Rickie Noel Whitney, and his loving wife of 15 years Katie Ann Carr Whitney the daughter of Warren and Vera Carr of Pine, La. His Parents, Richard and Evelyn Billiot Whitney Sr. of Buras-Boothville, La., 4 sisters, Marie and Jonathan Wilson Sr. of Port Sulpher, La., Jeanenna and Randal Juneau of Buras, La.,
Kayla and Michael Hanna of Belle Chase, La. and Dedra and Michael Ridgdell also of Belle Chase.a special uncle and aunt, Omar Hingle Sr. and Rebecca Billiot of Venice, La., many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, a brother-in-law,Warren Carr Jr. of Pine, La, his Godchildren, Sean Wilson, Janna Greene, Bladen Jeaneau, Micah Zane Carr and Haley Polkey and other family members and friends.
He was a tugboat Captain. A special thanks to Bonvillian Marine, Daigle Towing and his present company Higman Barge Lines and thanks to the owners, employers and employees. Thanks to David Devall, Mary Kay Cole , and to thank Higman Barge Lines for being part of our family.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Sethe Xaviar Whitney and Jace Evan Witney.
Visitation will be held Tuesday February 16, 2016 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 P.M. with all night wake and services will be held on Wednesday February 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.. Rev. David Easterling will be conducting the services . Interment will take place in the Breland Cemetery located on hwy. 1070 in Pine, La.
