I am really sad to hear about Johnny. My first memories of him are on the bus with his ?trumpet? case as we were were kids. And then as a family man and an excellent mechanic as we grew up. My sympathies go out to his family and friends. I ran into Johnny a few months ago and I am glad I had the chance to catch up with him one last time, He will be missed by so many.
Marie and Wendell and Johnny’s children...we are so sorry for your loss. We have great memories of Johnny. Prayers to all of you. God bless!

Marie, I just read this unfortunate news of your son John. Please know, my friend, that I will be praying for you that God gives you peace and comfort.
Love you, Carmel J Grantham
Our daughter, Carlie was best friends with Harley growing up and spent so much time with the family. She was treated like another daughter by John. We never worried about her because we knew she was in good hands. We became good friends with John and loved hanging out at their house. He was such a fun loving, live life to the fullest, amazing man and a wonderful father to Woody and Harley and to his third daughter Carlie (aka "20"). As the kids grew up we saw less of each other, but when we would run into each other John always wanted to know how everyone was doing and to brag on his babies. He was so proud of his kids. His smile and laugh was infectious and you couldn't help but gravitate to his positive energy. I am so glad that we got to know John and his family and how my daughter has so many wonderful childhood memories that include the Heltons. I am so sad and my heart is broken for Woody and Harley and the rest of the family, but I do know that John gave them a good foundation and taught them how to be great people and a piece of him will live on forever in Woody and Harley. I know he will be watching over them and still cheering them on. Woody and Harley you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
