We always enjoyed talking with Dickie and listening to his opinions. He had a great sense of humor and was a good friend. We will miss him and wish the family the Peace of Christ during this time of sorrow.
I met Mr. John one day when I was at the Ponemah cemetery. I was with a friend from out of town who looking for her aunt's headstone. He started chatting with us, and come to find out - he had grown up with my Dad (Virgil Lloyd) and his brothers. He remembered their nicknames and even the names of the submarines they served on during WWII. In addition, he was a student of the aunt who's headstone we were looking for! It is indeed a small world and it was a real pleasure talking with him about days gone by and hearing a little bit of my Dad's boyhood. Rest in peace Mr. John.....and say hello to all the boys! My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
