John "Big Sam" Pearson Brooks, Sr.'s Obituary
John "Big Sam" Pearson Brooks Sr. age 59 passed away on August 4, 2017 at his residence in Franklinton La. He is survived by his wife Mary Westmorland Brooks of Franklinton. One son John Pearson Brooks Jr. of Franklinton. Four daughters, Veronica Sibley of Walker La., Nicole Bounds of Franklinton, Dixie Rene Bounds of Walker La, Lucy Earline Brooks of Mississippi. Two sisters, Billie Faye Brooks of Bogalusa La., Debbie Tor of Baton Rouge, LA. One brother Alcus Brooks, of Slidell, LA. Also survived by his mother Juanita Varnado.
Eleven grandchildren, Adam McLin, Tyler Wilson, Heaven Butler ,Carolyn Bounds ,Zander Bounds, Haley Brooks, and Clifford Donald "Little Man" Brooks, Austin and Wesley Bounds of Varnado, LA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Alcus Brooks Two brothers David Wayne Brooks and Huey Phillip Brooks.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Brown McGehee Funeral Home on Sunday August 6, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continue on Monday August 7, 2017 from 9 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. Rev. Chad Jenkins will officiate.
