Jimmy Ray Rogers' Obituary
Jimmy Ray Rogers, a resident of Angie, Louisiana passed away at the age of 78. He went peacefully at the home of his daughter in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on Friday, September 30, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born on 12-26-1937 in Pine, Louisiana, eldest of 5 children.
He married Delores Elaine Hall on 8-27-56 and celebrated 55 years together. As a member of the Boilermaker-Blacksmith Union he worked as a welder for many years. He loved to fish, especially fly fishing, and hunt. He was a man who trusted in God's plan, loved his family with all of his heart, and made others laugh with his storytelling.
Survived by: daughter, Reba Rogers Hudspeth (Wayne Myshin); sons, Donnie Ray and Danny Ray; granddaughter, Mandy Hudspeth Crawford (Dane Crawford); great grandson, Asher Ryan Crawford; sisters, Doris Graves (Ken Graves) and Jannette Henley (Lynn Henley, niece Lynette Pounds and nephew Rodney Henley); and numerous nieces and nephews
Predeceased by: wife, Delores Hall Rogers; mother, Letha Gerald Rogers; father, Prentis Rogers; brothers, Billy Ray Rogers and Green Ray Rogers
He will be greatly missed as he leaves behind memories we will hold close to our hearts.
Services will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, 610 Avenue F, Bogalusa, LA 70427. Officiating will be Jimmy's cousin, Bennie Schilling and Chaplain Lonnie Thompson. Visitation is on Tuesday, October 4th from 5 PM to 9 PM with viewing on Wednesday, October 5th from 9 AM to 11 AM. Service starts at 11 AM with burial at Pounds Cemetery off Hwy 21 in Bogalusa. Reception will follow at Western Sizzlin Steak House, 1523 S Columbia Street in Bogalusa.
