Mr. Jimmy Goff Sr.'s Obituary
Jimmy Dean Goff, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, at the age of 84.
Jimmy was born on April 28, 1941 in Moorehead, Mississippi to Jack Raymond and Mary McGraw Goff. Jimmy was a 1960 graduate of Picayune High School in Picayune, Mississippi. Jimmy married Phyllis Anita Broome on April 7th, 1961 and they were married for 34 years until Phyllis’ untimely death in 1995. Jimmy and Phyllis had two children, Jimmy Dean, Jr. and Melondy Lynn. Jimmy married Ruby Bass in 2004 and they were married for 11 years.
Jimmy worked in many aspects of the grocery business. He was employed by Nabisco for 25 years and retired from Nabisco in 1996. Jimmy loved fishing and football. He spent a great deal of time fishing with his son and brothers. Jimmy was very close to his 4 brothers, and his house was the place to be on Super Bowl Sunday. He enjoyed hosting the whole family for the annual Super Bowl party. Jimmy and Phyllis enjoyed camping with Jimmy, Jr. and Melondy when they were children. Later, Jimmy and Ruby purchased an RV and enjoyed traveling in the RV.
Jimmy loved his four grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed their visits in the summer, attending their sporting events and graduations. Papaw always had an endless supply of Nabisco cookies available for the grandkids!
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Raymond Goff and Mary McGraw Goff, his brother, Jack Goff, and his wives, Phyllis Broome Goff and Ruby Bass Goff.
He is survived by his children, Jimmy Dean Goff, Jr., and his wife Karmann, Melondy Lynn Hughes, and her husband, Shane; his grandchildren Kayleigh Goff Langford (Justin), Evan Goff (Marlin), Connor Goff (Gabriela) and Gabriel Hughes; great grandchildren Easton and Caroline Langford, Mikaela and Mason Goff-Lima; his brothers Robert Goff (Jane), Gary Goff (Denise) and Donnie Goff (Paula) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loving thanks to Shane, Melondy and Gabriel, who lovingly cared for Jimmy during his final years.
