Irene Culpepper, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mrs. Irene Culpepper, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by love and the legacy of a life well lived.
Born on September 24, 1935, in Poplarville, Mississippi, Irene was renowned for her steadfast faith, inspiring leadership, compassionate service, and the best biscuits in the south.
Irene was a founding member of The Church of United Faith. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and Women’s Auxiliary Leader for many decades. A gifted homemaker, Irene created a warm, orderly home, served her church, and loved those around her with fierce devotion.
Irene married Joe Earl Culpepper with whom she shared 45 years of marriage before his passing. She is also preceded in death by her parents Sam and Lula Lavinia Keller; siblings Albert, JC, Julius, Eloise, Ollie, Mary Jane, LD, TC, Marie, and Cecil; and her precious great-grandson, Ethan Swanner.
Irene is survived by her brother, Alvin Keller; sister, Pauline Kline; and daughters Ellen Swanner (Wayne) and Betty Allen (Julian). Her grandchildren include Brian Swanner (Samantha), Brad Swanner, (Christina), Kiesha LeRoux (Jody), Dr. Jaron Allen (Erin), Nathan Allen (Kaitlynnd). Her great grandchildren include Caleb Swanner, Aubrey Swanner, James Mark LeRoux, Freeman LeRoux , Jacob Allen, Imogen Allen, Jude Allen, and Selah Allen.
