Helen Sue Simmons' Obituary
Helen Sue Simmons 73, passed away December 23, 2013 at L.S.U. Medical Center in Bogalusa la. Helen was born Nov. 6, 1040 to the late Max and Geneva Rowley, of Kokomo Mississippi. She is survived by brothers Edwin Rowley, Jim Rowley, Roy Rowley and Clyde Rowley, sisters Hilda Holmes and Lela Stringer. She is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Rowley and sister Ilene Slocum.
Helen married Ralph Simmons on November 8, 1957 which started her 56 year residence in Bogalusa. She was mother to Sharon Stevens, married to Paul Stevens of Bogalusa La., Karen Bennett, married to Craig Bennett of Folsom La, and Darren Simmons of Bogalusa La., grandmother to Steven Smith, Jessica Stevens, Eric Steven, Ralph Stevens, Matthew Bennett and Katie Bennett, and great grandmother to Garrett Simmons, Lawson Smith, Ella Stevens, Savannah Stevens, Brooklyn Stevens and Mackinzie Stevens.
Known as "Miss Helen from Moseley's," she spent over 20 years selling jewelry in both Bogalusa and Franklinton stores.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services that will be held at Brown McGehee Funeral Home 610 Ave F, Bogalusa La 70427. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m Saturday December 28, 2013. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Rev. Walter Pierce will officiate.
