Helen Sarah Freeman's Obituary
Helen Williams Freeman, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, left this world peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family at her cherished home. Born on September 28, 1932, in the serene setting of Washington Parish, Helen was the treasured daughter of Modez and Hattie Owens Williams. Her life was a testament to faith, family, and the simple joys that bring lasting happiness.
Helen's journey through life was marked by love and devotion, particularly to her husband of 49 wonderful years, Myron R. Freeman, who predeceased her. Together, they nurtured a family rooted in love and resilience, raising their children with the same values they cherished. Helen's nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her three children: Myron Freeman and his wife Joyce, Charles Freeman and his wife Donna, and her daughter Beverly Williams. Her legacy continues to blossom through her seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, who were blessed to know her love.
As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Joyce Turberville, Leona Rivera, and Rondle Williams, and a dear grandchild. Despite the sorrow of these losses, Helen's spirit was indomitable, and she embraced life with grace, gratitude, and an unwavering faith.
Helen's life was woven with the threads of her passions, her love for cooking, sewing, and basking in the company of her grandchildren. Her kitchen was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where she lovingly prepared meals that brought her family together and nourished not just their bodies, but their souls. Her sewing was a testament to her creativity and patience, crafting pieces that were as enduring as her love.
Family was the cornerstone of Helen's life, and she was happiest surrounded by her loved ones, sharing stories, wisdom, and laughter. Her home was a haven of warmth and kindness, where everyone who entered felt the deep love and acceptance that she so naturally exuded.
In honor of Helen's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing her family to gather in intimate remembrance of her remarkable life. As they celebrate her legacy, they find solace in the countless memories and the love she bestowed upon them.
Helen's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, resilience, and grace. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family, whose lives have been immeasurably enriched by her presence. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her memory is a cherished blessing, a beacon of light that will continue to shine brightly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
