I miss Uncle Harold.
For the past few years he and I talked often on the telephone. He always made me laugh telling me crazy stories. He told me all about his puppy and how he gave her gum (mug) as a treat. He would make a special trip to Popeye's Chicken to buy her fried chicken to eat. She was over weight to say it kindly. Once, he had his little dog outside when a neighbor passed by the house. She said, "Is that a pot-bellied pig." Harold in his dry sense of humor replied, "Hell no, she's a dog."
Uncle Harold adored my Aunt Janice. He was so faithful to care for her up until the time she passed away. I will always love him for that. They were soul-mates and loved each other deeply. He and Janice also moved to Daytona Beach to be with my parents when she had lung cancer. It was a great comfort knowing they were close by. Harold was a dedicated friend and family member. You could always count on him. My brother, Barry loved him and identified with his personality. There was nothing he wouldn't do, if he liked you. He will be greatly missed.
God Bless and keep his family.
