Fenwick Oneal "Babe" Jenkins' Obituary
Fenwick Oneal "Babe" Jenkins age 76, a resident of Bogalusa, born July 25, 1936, passed away Saturday Sept. 1, 2012. This loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice Thomas Jenkins of Bogalusa. Two daughters Sharon (Mark) McGehee and Sheila (Greg) Slaughter of Bogalusa, one son Todd (Michelle) Jenkins of Watson La., along with eight grandchildren, Cory McGehee, Blandon (Ashley) Slaughter, Brooke (Clay) Applewhite, Brianne (Chesley) Boyet, Brett Slaughter, Jeffery Jenkins, Tristan Jenkins, and Helaina Jenkins, along with four special grandchildren, Alexandra Slaughter, Brendan Slaughter, Brody Applewhite, and Brayson Boyet.. He is also survived by three sisters Aline (Alex) Stamatelaky of Loranger La., Shirley (Randy ) Magee of Bogalusa La, and Peggy Larry Hayatt of Franklinton along with a host of family members and special friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Wilson and Georgia Mae Jenkins, and brother and sister Fred Jenkins and Pauline Alder.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home Monday Sept. 3, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday Sept. 4, 2012 form 8:00 a.m. until time fore services in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Spencer cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Hollen and Pastor Lynn Martin will officiate.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of True Light Baptist Church. Babe was proud to have worked most of his life as a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 60 as a combination welder. As ans avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farmingThe family would like to thank all family and friends for their support and prayers durning his illness.
