I'm lili his granddaughter and he was always a loving person and he always helped some one in need even if he did not have the money or if he did not have the time he always helped someone that need some type of help and now his kindness outlasted everybody and he is probably sitting in heaven looking down at us watching our lives go by every day and every day I miss him more and I know he is resting in peace now and me and my brother had deeply missed him. Thinking back on those sweet moments fills me with all the fuzzy feels. Its your dedication and love; I remember when you used to drive hours just to see me – starting with one, two, even three hours spoke volumes. Your presence, despite the miles, was my happy place.
Goodbyes were always a punch in the gut, each one feeling like a slice of my heart was left behind. Yet, as our visits grew more frequent, farewells became a tad less brutal, though I could see the sadness in your eyes as I walked away.
Our bond blossomed with each meet-up, but with it came the harsh truth that some goodbyes just hit different. Our time together was never long enough, but the memories we crafted will forever be etched in my heart. 💜
