Elmer D. "Donnie" Varnado, Jr.'s Obituary
Elmer "Donnie" Varnado Jr. age 56 passed away passed away Feb. 27, 2015 at Ochsner's North Shore in Slidell La. He was a resident of Bogalusa and a US Army veteran serving in the first Gulf War.
He is survived by his wife Juanita of Bogalusa La., by one son Casey Donell Varnado of Madisonville La. Two step sons John P. Brooks Sr. of Franklinton La., and Alcus Wayne Brooks of Slidell La. One daughter Dominique Rochelle Stroup of Lafayette La. One step daughter Billie Faye Brooks of Bogalusa La. One brother Karlton A. Varnado of Bogalusa La. One sister Beverly Susan Boone of Sumrall Ms. And a step sister Sheila Stogner of Bogalusa La. Eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer D. "Bull" and Marion Varnado Sr.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Brown McGehee Funeral Home on Monday March 2, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Ponemah Cemetery with military rites conducted by Magic City Post #24 of the American Legion. Rev. Don Thornberg will officiate.
