Diaz Dewitt McElveen's Obituary
Diaz Dewitt McElveen, Jr., 93 years of age and a life-long resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, January 26, at the Post- Acute Specialty Hospital in Hammond. He was an army veteran of WWII and worked at the paper mill and the chemical plant from which he retired. He was a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years, as well as being an active member of the community at large.
He is preceded in death by this father, Diaz D. McElveen, Sr.; his mother, Lena Sumrall McElveen; his sister, Gloria Mixon; and his brother, Ernest Ray McElveen.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his sister, Eleanor Hickman (Stanley); three daughters, Marilyn Larmon (Frank), Rebecca (Becki) Magee, and April Toney (Scott); and his son, Brad McElveen (Brenda). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Visitation is at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Sunday, February 2 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
