Miss Destiny Marie Matran's Obituary
Destiny Marie Matran, 16, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, left this world on April 27, 2026, but the light she brought into it will continue to shine through all who knew and loved her.
Destiny was many things—a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend—but above all, she was a source of joy. Affectionately known as “Destiny Wee-Wee” by her family, she had a way of brightening even the darkest room the moment she walked in. Her laughter, her energy, and her unmistakable spirit made every day a little better for those lucky enough to be around her.
She embraced life fully and joyfully. Whether she was playing outside, riding four-wheelers, splashing in muddy puddy’s, or soaking up a beautiful day fishing, boating, or swimming, Destiny found happiness in the simple, meaningful moments. She loved good food, especially crawfish and mash potatoes shared with family and friends, and she never missed a chance to be silly, goofy, and unapologetically herself. She was outgoing, intelligent, and strong-willed, a young woman who knew her mind and lived with heart.
Destiny’s greatest gift was the way she made people feel. Just being beside her could lift your spirits, and her presence left a lasting impression of warmth, laughter, and love.
She leaves behind a large and loving family who will continue to carry her memory forward: her mother, Ashley Marie Miller; her father, Aaron Blake Jerrell (Amber Lee); her brothers, Zachary Christopher Miller, Jr., Elijah Richard Miller, and Ramiro Blake Matran; her grandmothers, Rhonda Melinda Matran and Lynda Marie Jerrell; her beloved nanny and uncle, Wendy and Jeremy Stogner, and their children, Michael, Randy, Trenity, and Gabrielle; her “aunt-mama,” Amanda Knight, and her children, Damien, Matthew, and Cayden; her aunts and uncles, Wendy Jerrell and James “Rudy” O’Bryant, and Candace Watts and Eron Williams, along with their children, Ariana, Kiera “Ke-Ke,” Jordan, Kycen “Ky-Ky,” Carey “Jr,” Kendrick “K-Dub,” Kenley “Toota-Butt,” and Baby Eron; and many other relatives and friends who loved her deeply.
She is reunited in peace with her Paw-Paw Buddy (James Dillon), Paw-Paw Terry Jerrell, and one cousin, Glenn Cody Wells.
In honor of Destiny’s vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into the world, her family invites all who attend her services to wear bright colors, a reflection of the brightness she shared so freely and to leave dark colors behind.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home Chapel, with services following at 2:00 PM, officiated by Bro. Damien Wheat.
Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather at Sun Town Hall for a time of fellowship, remembrance, and sharing in the love Destiny gave so freely.
Though her time here was far too short, Destiny’s life was full of love, laughter, and light—a beautiful reminder to live boldly, love deeply, and find joy in every moment.
