Carol Ruddick Spillmon
Carol Ruddick Spillmon, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Bogalusa on Sunday, October 23rd. A native of Bogalusa, she was preceded in death by her parents, Durward and Verma Ruddick, and her husband, J.H. (Jack) Spillmon.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Spillmon Penzato and her husband Gary of Mandeville; her son, Eric Spillmon and his wife Tonya and his daughter Lauren also of Mandeville; her brother Buddy Ruddick and his wife Barbara, of Baton Rouge; her brother Jim Ruddick and his wife Mignhon, of Panama City FL; her sister Cheri Rose of Waldron AR; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Spillmon of Covington La. Carol is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to express their deep appreciation to her close friends and healthcare professionals who have visited and cared for her over the last several years - especially Dr. Tania Levi and her staff, Mrs. Eunice Dillon, and the wonderful people at St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice. Of particular note, her family is forever grateful to Ethel "Sis" Holmes. Sis was a loving and compassionate caregiver to Carol over the last 4 years of her life and her dedication and devotion made it possible for Carol to remain at her home for her final years. There are not enough words to express how much this meant to Carol's family.
Per her request, she is being cremated with a visitation and formal funeral service at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Saturday, October 29th. Visitation will be from 9-1. A private memorial service for her close friends and family at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, her children have asked memorial donations be made to St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice, 1202 South Tyler Street, Covington LA 70433.
