Betty Jo Scruggs Lambert's Obituary
Betty Jo Scruggs Lambert born in Bogalusa La on October 18, 1924 passed away on Sunday February 14, 2016 at the age of 91 years old.
Betty Jo loved cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, and reading. She always had a biscuit and a cup of coffee to offer anyone who dropped by. She was an amazing and beautiful person inside and out, and always she had a smile of her face to offer.
One of her greatest joys was to be surrounded by her family. She leave a legacy of strength, understanding, forgiveness and patience.
She is survived by three daughters, Imogene (Gary ) Holloway, Linda Hodgin, Paula (Ed) Harper. One son James (Phylis) Lambert.
Eight grandchildren, Brad (Brigitte) Holloway, Dawn Holloway Austin, Lori Hodgin (James) Taylor, Beth Hodgin (Robert) Tycer, Kim Hodgin, Wesley (Ashley) Harper,Amber Lambert (Andrew) Jenkins,Christopher (Kaylan) Lambert.
Fifteen great grandchildren, Christopher Scholar, Brooke Holloway, Emily Holloway, Sarah Holloway, Ava Holloway, Grayson Holloway, Caleb Crum, Chaney Crum, Ashli Tycer, Abbi Tycer, David Tycer, Jad Burt, Claire Harper, Claire Jenkins, Lilyana Lambert. Two great-great grandchildren, Brendon Scholar, and Austin Scholar.
She is preceded in death by her husband Downey Eugene Lambert, two great grandsons, Brendon Holloway, and Colten Crum. One son-in-law David L. Hodgin.
Visitation will be in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Monday February 15, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday February 16, 2016 from 8 a.m. until time for services in the chapel beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev Pete Underwood will officiate.
