We met Tex as a boy, here in Arkansas. He came to visit us with Andy, Keith, and Sharon. The men took the boys snipe hunting, and we laughed so much. I’d see him again at their house In Franklinton. Such a nice young man. Our thoughts go out to you all during this sad time. Tony and Tonya Puckett, Sheridan, AR.
Deidra and Bruce, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray God provides you with the strength needed during these difficult days.

My son, James, and Austin were childhood friends. We all went to church together. When James and Austin were about 9 years old, James had a sleepover party. My sister and I took a group of boys to the Mall of LA to see the dinosaur exhibit. There was also a climbing wall. As I recall, Austin was the only one who made it to the top. Later in the year, I took Austin with us to my parents' home. They lived in West Baton Rouge Parish, a little over an hour's drive from Loranger where we lived. While crossing the Baton Rouge Bridge, Austin asked, " Mrs. Carol, are we in another country? I never saw a place like this before!" That weekend was a great adventure for him. I took them to the State Capitol and to the USS Kidd. We also went down to the Plaquemine ferry. We parked the car, walked on board and rode across to the east bank where the boys "played" in a jetty in the Mississippi River. These were things my boys had done before, but it was a first for Austin. I'm so happy to have given him that experience.
