Ms. Lucille Bowman

April 15, 1941 - December 22, 2018

Lucille Bowman, a native of Louisiana, was born on April 15, 1941 and passed away, flanked by her daughters at her Mandeville home, on December 22, 2018. Lucille was the daughter of the late Luther and Margaret Miley of Washington Parish. She was preceded in death by eight siblings (Henry Miley, Chinecy Miley Toney, Irene Miley Hunt, Inez Miley Sandifer, Dorothy Miley Dominguez, Houston Miley, Gladys Miley Brooks, and Kinch Miley) and is survived by three siblings (Mason Miley, Luke Miley, and Macelle Miley Cogburn). Lucille was married to the late Wesley Bowman for 54 years and together they were blessed with three children: a son (John Eric Bowman of Mandeville [deceased]) and two daughters (Serelda Bowman Young [Steve] of Bush and Debra Bowman Palisi [Michel] of Madisonville). Lucille and Wesley were also blessed with seven grandchildren (Brandie Bowman, Jessica Young, Michael Young, Ryan Young [Anna], Thomas Palisi [Brandie], Lexi Palisi, and Kyli Palisi) and three great grandchildren (Kinsleigh Pounds, Aden Young, and Nathan John Glawson). Lucille was a strong and determined woman who dared to make her own way in life. She left Washington Parish and moved to New Orleans, at the tender age of 18, and was employed by the Roosevelt Hotel and the American Telephone and Telegraph Company before getting married and becoming a homemaker. Lucille was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that was committed to maintaining a beautiful home. She emphatically enjoyed decorating and gardening, often receiving accolades for the beauty of her home. Lucille will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and her neighbors.
